FORMER York City loan-ranger Michael Proctor is in line to strengthen his claims for a first team shirt at Sunderland this season.
As reported in late editions of Saturday's Evening Press, Proctor was included in Peter Reid's 20-strong party to travel to Le Tourquet, in France, for a week-long training camp.
However, with Kevin Phillips still to fully recover from an operation on a troublesome ankle injury, Proctor, who netted 14 times for the Minstermen during a successful season-long loan, could get the nod to start Saturday's friendly against Amiens.
Proctor attracted the attention of a number of clubs during his time at City.
Meanwhile, after playing a key part in seeing Cheltenham win promotion to Division Two, ex-City forward Neil Grayson will be plying his trade in the Conference next season.
The 37-year-old Grayson, who began his career in the non-Leagues with Rowntree Mackintosh has now signed a two-year deal with Forest Green Rovers.
