CLUB and Institute Union angling section organiser Keith Harrison is enjoying a fine run of form.

After scoring in previous events he struck a weekend double.

His first success came in the condensed version of the Saturday League which is now a three-a-side event.

Fishing on the notoriously fickle Park View Lake he netted a brace of bream plus some roach on pole and maggot for a level 11lb.

Mal Pearson (Railway Institute) with 3lb 5oz and Alan Littlechild (New York Club) on 3lb 2oz were his nearest challengers.

The next day Harrison blitzed the Tang Hall match on the Ouse at Redhouse Middle when he tempted seven bream on caster from the Rough Field for 25lb 6oz. Dave Collinson 3lb 11oz and Rod Chalk 1lb 4oz were best of the rest.

Terry Carlton won Sunday's Mitre Angling Services match on the Rising Sun Fishery at Aldwark. Fishing pole and meat he had an all-carp net of 33lb 10oz which saw him home and dry.

Barry Klar with 15lb and Adele Wallis on 8lb 10oz took second and third.

Acomb Tackle had another cracking contest at Oaktree Huby on Sunday with Steve Hodson topping some big weights.

Pole and pellet accounting for his all-carp 44lb 8oz.

Youngsters Tom Sunman and Thomas Hodson netted 37lb 8oz and 25lb 8oz respectively. They were separated by Paul Warren who had 35lb 4oz.

Paul Gallagher won Tuesday evening's open at the Willows with a straight 29lb of carp to 3lb from peg 35 on Goldrush with pole and pellet doing the damage.

Steve Fearnley took second with 26lb 8oz from peg 47 ahead of Dennis Geldard with 25lb 10oz and Andy Gallant on 25lb 8oz.

The Black Horse match on Horseshoe Lake at Raker was won by Chris Vipas. Drawn on peg 22 he bagged 45lb of carp fishing tight across on pole and meat.

Doug Dalton had four better fish from peg 17 for his second placed 24lb 10oz.

Others: Alan Atkinson 23-2-0, Chris Evans 18-6-0, Tom Chapman 15-10-0 and Ray Wright 14-12-0.

The sell-outs keep on coming at the Oaks and after Sunday's mega match on Maple Lake it is easy to see why.

A field of 62 lined every peg and the class showed as 35lb was needed to win every section.

Gary Pawlett (Oaks) was always favourite after pulling 62a from the bag and so it proved. He pole fished pellet down his own bank into the corner for quality carp to 6lb and a final net of 63lb 8oz.

Mark Calvert (Cleveland Angling Centre) was in the points again with a hard earned 49lb 14oz Alternating cat meat and pellet tight to the island on peg 44 he took lots of small carp with his best fish going 3lb.

Others: Danny McGuire (Preston Innovations) 39-10-0, Mark Vanderkamp (Sensas Garbolino) 39-6-0; Mick Herrington (Headingley Angling) 38-8-0, Mark Coyne (Cleveland Angling Centre) 37-8-0.

Venue expert Dave Pimlott (Keenets Elton) leapt from the chasing pack to victory thanks to a monster mirror of 22lb.

Fishing long pole and meat to the island opposite Dragonfly 16 he added plenty of smaller carp to top the 55 entry with 62lb 9oz.

Andy Wakelin (Middy Matchmen Supplies) was pegged Swallow 14 and used the long pole and meat to bag another all carp 52lb 3oz.

Others: Derek Parrington (Cleveland Angling Centre) 49-9-0, John Chapman (Keenets North West) 47-2-0, Andy Bridge (MAP Elton) 44-9-0, Mark Calvert (MAP Elton) 37-5-0.
