York RL fans are to begin a poster campaign in pubs and clubs around York in a bid to help kick-start the city's new professional club.
The aim will be to highlight the situation regarding the new club - which needs to have in the bank £75,000 by the end of this month to be able to play in next season's Rugby Football League - and encourage people to become club members.
Membership costs £250 a year - fans can pay by standing order of less than £5 per week - and gives free admission to games for members and a child, match-day benefits, including cut-price drinks at the stadium bar, and many city-wide discounts.
Pensioners can become members for the reduced price of £200, while groups of ten or more can also glean a big discount if they sign up before August 24.
Further details are available from proposed chief executive Steve Ferres on 07976 155345.
A fund-raising committee of fans held a 'positive' meeting at Huntington Stadium last night.
Ferres said: "The main concern is that we have little time to work with, but there was a lot of committed people at the meeting and a lot of good ideas discussed."
