More than 500 homes near York suffered a power cut after a crow flew into an overhead power line.
A spokeswoman for NEDL said it affected properties in Alne, Easingwold, Huby, Tollerton and Youlton.
Electricity was lost for about an hour-and-a-half between 4pm and 5.30pm yesterday.
