Driffield are clear leaders in division one Hunters the estate agent York and District Senior League after gaining the better of Duncombe Park.

Park's Peter Kent achieved career-best figures of 7-73 and then Brian Leckenby hit an unbeaten 102.

Driffield were able to total 204-9 despite Kent's bowling, Peter Sellar making 44 and Mark Tennant 39. Leckenby lacked support when Park replied and, with Mark Woodcock taking three for 54, their response could only reach 183-6.

Dringhouses spinners Ian Bews and Mick Kenyon kept Hull Zingari's batsmen in control and the visitors made only 147-6.

Andy Knowles (51) made a half century as Bews took four for 35.

Andy Kenyon (27) and Ray Klarik (25) put Dringhouses marginally ahead at 113 for six, but two run outs damaged the home cause and the pace of Andy Hamson (four for 27) brought about their demise at 123 all out.

Whitkirk's promotion bid faltered when they fell short of Goole Town's 212-7 and had to be content with a draw at 200-8, which enabled them to take full batting points.

Anthony Gibbins made 43 in an opening stand of 67 with Steve Foster, who went on to make 78. Matt O'Brien had 4-65 in 15 overs, but Goole were still able to bank five batting points.

Neil Edgecock and Darren Grey came together when Whitkirk had lost two wickets for 44 and the pair took the score to 176, Edgecock making 54 and Grey 60.

Spinner Dave England took 3-60 in 22 overs, but the decisive spell came from Gibbins, whose 4-31 off seven overs ensured the better of a draw for Goole.

Ripon reclaimed their promotion slot when they had the better of a draw with Crayke.

Ripon totalled of 209-9, in which Howard Wooding (50) and Peter Squires (56) were the mainstays. Mark Hutchinson took 3-74 for Crayke and veteran Sam Armitage 3-34.

When Crayke replied, Mark Barber claimed 3-67 while Andrew Dawson made 55 and Dave Allitt 33 in a total of 164-7.

A 29-pointer for Sessay over bottom-placed Stillington moved them to within six points of the leaders.

Sessay reached 190-6, Matt Till top scorer with 70. Stillington bowler Matt Coulson was praised by the home skipper for a good spell of bowling. He conceded only 53 runs in 23 overs for two wickets. His batsmen, though, capitulated to 94 all out, Steve Langstaff taking 3-19.

Carlton Towers failed to protect their score of 219-7 at York, who won by seven wickets.

Carlton skipper Jamie Pocklington scored 106. Brendan O'Donovan was York's most successful bowler, with 3-54.

The Shipton Road side moved to 223-3, John McGrady leading the way with 77, while Andrew Kay (42), Dave De Sylva (45) and Kent Stone (33) all played their parts with aplomb.
