FORMER Baywatch star Jaason Simmons left the Los Angeles sunshine far behind him when he dropped into York yesterday.
The well-travelled actor, who hails from Australia, lives in LA and has family roots in Yorkshire, will be appearing in the Grand Opera House pantomime Aladdin this Christmas.
He will be treading the boards alongside local lad James Crossley, who was Hunter in Gladiators and takes the lead role in the pantomime, and Home and Away star Chris Egan who plays the Genie of the Ring.
Jaason will be known to Baywatch fans as lifeguard Logan Fowler and is said to be looking forward to his forthcoming role.
Grand Opera House spokeswoman Celestine Dubruel said: "It's definitely one for the girls.
"It's a great cast this year, very young, very energetic.
"Everybody knows Baywatch, and although Jaason is no longer in it, people will definitely remember the Australian lifeguard.
"He's really laid-back and a really nice guy.
"He will be back in York in December for rehearsals and the show starts on December 12. He loves York and he's got family from Yorkshire so he's happy to be here."
