John Wainwright, who sent out Beyond The Clouds to win the big sprint at Beverley last Saturday, relies on another speed-merchant at Catterick tomorrow.

The Kennythorpe trainer saddles Catch The Cat in the 'Doug Moscrop 40 Years In Racing' Handicap, a five-furlongs dash, named in honour of the well-known racing journalist and Tyne Tees Television racing presenter, who lives at Newcastle.

Catch The Cat, who will be partnered by smart apprentice Lee Enstone, has a Beverley success to his credit this season. His latest outing was at Pontefract 10 days ago when he ran a blinder to finish a close-up third to Kissing Time in a competitive handicap.

This fast track should suit Catch The Cat, who I fancy will show his rivals a clean pair of heels.

The Walton Family Classified Stakes looks a good opportunity for Loyal Tycoon to rediscover the winning trail.

David Nicholls' four-year-old will, significantly, have the assistance of Kieren Fallon, who also teams-up with the stable's Sir Don in the Derwent Maiden Stakes over five furlongs.

Nicholls seldom books Fallon for horses without a winning chance so this pair are worth close attention.

The Tote betXpress Handicap over seven furlongs is the most valuable race on the Catterick card. My preference is for Totem Pole, trained by Barry Hills, who has been running well enough to suggest that a bold bid is likely.

At Brighton, Richard Hughes, who is making a real race of it with Kieren Fallon for the Jockeys' Championship, can help his cause by scoring on Beyond Calculation for Milton Bradley in the Wellington Handicap over five and a half furlongs.

The eight-year-old, a previous course winner, is napped to follow in the hoofprints of Present'N'Correct, who won this race for Bradley a year ago.

Tomorrow's tips:
