THE prospective player-coach of the new York RL club will be at Huntington Stadium tomorrow night to be introduced to fans.

Paul Broadbent, the current skipper of Super League side Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, is to be installed as boss of the new outfit should they raise enough funds to be allowed back into the league next season by the Rugby Football League.

The former Great Britain international, who will extend his playing days with York, will front the public meeting at the stadium (7pm start) alongside likely chief executive Steve Ferres.

All fans are urged to attend the meeting, where they will be given the latest news on club finances and the low-down on all developments.

Ferres said: "It's gathering momentum. People are getting more positive and there are a lot of good vibes. We expect a big turn-out at the meeting.

"More people are getting involved and are spreading the word and we are gradually getting more money."

The club need to have in the bank £75,000 before August 31 - today they crossed the £50,000 barrier - for the RFL to grant them a place in the new-look National League next year.

All supporters are urged to snap up memberships and season tickets to 'help create a bright future for York RL'.

Annual memberships cost £250 (£200 for over-65s), which will guarantee free admission to matches for an adult and child and gives members city-wide discounts. There are big discounts for group bookings, family, lifetime and ten-year memberships. For youngsters aged 12-16 membership costs just £30.

Season tickets cost £120 ground/£130 seat (£70/£80 for O-65s), while U-12s accompanied by an adult get in free.

Payments can be made to Hague and Dixon Solicitors (York RLFC), Bank House, 1 The Square, Stamford Bridge, York, YO41 1AG.

Cheques should be made payable to Hague and Dixon Solicitors (York RLFC). Standing orders can be made out to Hague and Dixon Solicitors (York RLFC), account number 70430021, sort code 209956, at Barclays Bank, Parliament Street, York.
