York Fencing Club's beginners' class will start at Archbishop Holgate School gymnasium on Wednesday, September 11.
More than 20 hopefuls have registered for the course run by British Fencing Association-qualified coach Richard Goodwin. The course costs £50 and will be held until Christmas each Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9pm.
The YFC regulars, meanwhile, open their club sessions on September 4 at the same venue in preparation for the Merlin League epe/foil competition.
