Bolton Percy recorded their highest total of the year when they made 199-8 in a 24-run defeat of Selby - but they are still certain to fill the relegation slot in division five.

They could be accompanied into the basement by their opponents if Selby's first XI are relegated from division four.

Bolton's John White followed 52no with 4-30. Other handy displays came from Jonathan Green (27) and Dale Sanders (28), while Peter Atkinson's 3-41 helped to dismiss Selby for 175. For the losers, Jeff Romans took 3-37 and Robert Foster made 33.

Champions Malton & Old Malton crushed Sessay by 89 runs, though details were difficult to decipher.

Lester Parkin made 62 in Malton's 184-6, while James Till took 3-31 for Sessay and Jim Dawson 3-35 for Malton.

Thorp Arch & Boston Spa clinched promotion with a 100-run 30-point victory over Thirsk.

Mark Warrilow made 41, Mike Cole 27 and Chris Magee 58 before TABS declared at 237-8. Steve Raine (3-24) and Matt Linnacer (3-17) dismissed Thirsk for 137.

Long-time leaders Tadcaster Magnet missed out on promotion despite beating Pocklington by eight wickets.

John Reynolds (5-37) and Matt Hunt (67) shone for the winners.

Rowntree's poor season ended in defeat at Carlton Towers where they again only fielded nine players as some failed to arrive.

Andy Main made 48 and Steve Aldous 31 as Rowntrees scored 135 with Simon Boddye taking 3-26 and Steve Landers 3-46. Landers, promoted to opener, then hit a career best 44no and Jonathan Dilks made 43 as Carlton won by seven wickets. Matt Horner (11) had his first bowl in senior cricket, sending down a tidy over.
