THE first single jabs clinic to offer parents an alternative to the controversial MMR injection in York has been hailed a success by its organisers.
Some anxious parents without an appointment for yesterday's mobile clinic took a chance and brought their children to the Novotel in Fishergate and were rewarded by being squeezed into the busy schedule.
About 75 children in total were vaccinated for either measles, mumps or rubella, with follow-up appointments for the remaining vaccinations due to take place in the city later in the year.
The clinic was organised by London-based Direct Remedies in order to "fulfil a need in the community".
