CONTRARY to your report (September 30), Saturday's massive anti-war demonstration was organised not by CND but by the Stop The War Coalition (to which York Against The War is affiliated) and the Muslim Association of Britain. CND was, however, among the supporting organisations.
The police initially estimated the size of the demonstration at more than 430,000, but seem later to have mysteriously mislaid a couple of hundred thousand people.
