Pavement Gates can lead to victory at Catterick tomorrow.

Mark Brisbourne's two-year-old goes for the Tote David Wood Fillies' Nursery with Adrian Nicholls in the saddle, and is napped to get back on the winning trail.

Successful at Musselburgh three outings ago, Pavement Gates finished fourth in a valuable nursery at Hamilton a week ago, doing all her best work in the closing stages of that six-furlongs contest.

Tomorrow's step up to seven furlongs should her perfectly and she is taken to show her rivals the way home.

Percy Douglas is an interesting runner in the Lancashire Maiden Stakes. Anne Stokell's youngster has been highly tried this season, being promoted to high-class company in races such as the Roses Stakes at York and the Flying Childers at Doncaster.

To his credit, he has not performed at all badly, despite being well out of his depth.

He is back into run-of-the-mill maiden company tomorrow and, so long as his end has not been knocked-in by competing against superior rivals, he should make a bold bid. Carl Lowther has the mount.

Kieren Fallon, who gained a thrilling win on Hold That Tiger at Longchamp yesterday, teams-up with Academy, trained by Norton-based Andy Turnell, in division two of the Skyram Handicap over two miles.

Academy has been in cracking form in recent months, winning three of his last four races. Furthermore, he is also a previous winner on this track. He should go well with Fallon on board.

Sessay trainer David Nicholls enjoyed a memorable triumph with Continent in yesterday's Prix de l'Abbeye at Longchamp, and can add to his scoresheet with Loyal Tycoon in the Derbyshire Apprentice Classified Stakes.

Clare Roche takes the mount on the four-year-old, who has enjoyed a good season, winning two of his last four starts, including one of this course and distance.

Michaels Dream is performing well at present for Norton trainer James Hetherton and it would come as no surprise to see the gelding gain his second success in the Nottinghamshire Handicap.

The three-year-old has run two good races since scoring at Beverley and was only narrowly denied at Redcar on Saturday.

At Southwell, it could be worth following the fortunes of Paul Johnson, a qualified dentist, who has recently set up a training establishment in Couty Durham.

Johnson has already rattled-up two or three winners. Tomorrow, watch out for two of his runners, Moyne Pleasure in the Harrington Arms at Long Eaton Handicap, and Hormuz in the Wilsthorpe Tavern at Long Eaton Handicap. Both are previous winners on this Fibresand course.
