Selby Town's dismal start to the season in the Northern Counties East Premier Division continued when they crashed to a 5-1 defeat against Harrogate Railway at Flaxley Road.

Selby started brightly and took the lead after five minutes when Peter Collier raced on to a long ball and fired home from 12 yards. Railway were level after 17 minutes when a quick break caught out the Selby defence and Matt Flynn headed home. Flynn scored again just two minutes later with a well taken goal and things got worse for Selby when Peter Collier was sent off after 21 minutes. The Robins battled hard for the rest of the half and Nigel Oldfield shot narrowly wide just before the break.

Railway sealed the game five minutes into the second half when Flynn completed his hat trick. Kevin Smith scored from the penalty spot after 73 minutes and Andy Sunley completed the scoring in the 83rd minute.

Three men were sent off in Tadcaster Albion's 1-1 draw at Rossington Main. Home goalkeeper Michael Jones was ordered off for bringing down Darren Wilson and Tad went ahead through Mark Hick.

Both sides were then reduced to 10 men as Tadcaster's Billy Hicks was ordered off. Two minutes later Paul Peel equalised but Rossington were reduced to nine men when James Walker received his second yellow card.

Pickering Town suffered last-gasp agony at home to Garforth Town in the premier division when Aguibe Traore smashed home the only goal of the game from 25 yards in the third minute of injury time. Goole slumped to a 4-0 defeat at Ossett Albion, whose goals came from

Harrogate Town went down 2-1 at Runcorn in the UniBond Leagiue premier division.

The Cheshire side went ahead when Lee Parle beat Town's offside trap and the home side moved in to a 2-0 lead after 21 minutes when Dominic Morley netted from 10 yards.

Sandwiched between the two Runcorn goals Harrogate defender Neil Aspin had headed against the bar at a corner. Former York City man Marc Thompson was twice denied by goalkeeper Tony McMillan but Town did get one back in the 72nd minute when Michael Tomlinson deflected a shot from Scott Bonsall in to his own net.
