PUPILS from a York school were given the chance to learn about the plight of Ian Stillman when his father paid them a visit today.

Roy Stillman talked to groups of children from Manor School to help them learn about

human rights as part of a citizenship day.

Ian Stillman, aged 51, is serving a ten-year prison sentence in India for possession of cannabis - a charge he has always denied.

The Year 10 students have spent the last two weeks researching the case and preparing questions for Roy.

They asked him how he felt about his son's imprisonment and what sort of conditions he was coping with in the Indian prison.

The children then wrote letters of encouragement to Ian and letters to Hugh Bayley expressing their concern over the issue.
