TWO flood warnings were in place in York today following recent heavy rain.
The Environment Agency issued warnings on the River Ouse from Clifton Bridge to Fulford and at Naburn Lock.
Flood waters lapped the riverside path at King's Staith, covering the seated area outside the King's Arms pub, which is regularly swamped.
A car was towed out of the flood water by a van after getting stranded on the other side of the river at Queen's Staith.
King's Arms landlord Mike Hartley said he was keeping his fingers crossed.
"The Environment Agency told me the water shouldn't get into the pub when the river peaks at midnight."
Flood Watches were also in place in the Vale of York, Nidderdale and Wharfedale, Swaledale and Wensleydale and the North York Moors.
