THERE is growing concern about delays to new stations for Haxby and Strensall (October 30). Reading comments by Lib Dems on this vital rail link for these areas, I see problems even after the stations are completed.
Firstly, overcrowding before even leaving York, from passengers already on the train from Liverpool, Bradford Interchange and Leeds City Station.
Two units would not be practical, especially in the summer months when the trains are full. Also, trains would have to be more frequent because of the demand to meet the capacity in holidays. I can see trains pulling up at Haxby and the conductor saying "'sorry we're full".
