New Earswick All Blacks returned to winning ways in Yorkshire League division one with a convincing 42-14 victory over Kinsley Raiders.

Acorn were faster in attack and stronger in defence and rarely looked in danger against a heavyweight Raiders side.

All Blacks pressed early and on ten minutes Nigel Tyreman finished off good work from Jez Petch close to the line after neat handling from Mick Ramsden and Mark Tipping had put Phil Turpin through a gap. Jamie Daniel converted.

All Blacks then had their only bad spell of the game with poor discipline allowing Kinsley to score a penalty on 18 minutes and a try on 24 minutes when the hosts failed to deal with a kick into the corner.

New Earswick got their game together and Daniel put over a penalty on 27 minutes to equalise.

After sustained pressure, a short pass from Ramsden to Jo Jo Hnesh was rewarded when he showed great strength to score under pressure, Daniel converting, then Adie Robinson dummied through from 15 metres.

All Blacks played the second half with a lot more purpose in attack and they proceeded to run away with it.

It only took four minutes before smart work in their own half led to a break in which Robinson gave the scoring pass to Nick Massingham. Three minutes later great work from Alan Pallister saw Mark Tipping score from 25 metres.

It took only two more minutes for All Blacks to cross again when a pass out of the tackle from Mick Harrison on half-way saw Steve Perks out-pace the defence, and Daniel added a penalty.

The try of the game came when man of the match Ramsden broke through and was supported by Harrison, who fed Petch to score, Daniel converting.

Kinsley finished off the scoring when their scrum-half kicked against the posts and re-gathered to touch down.
