YORK and North Yorkshire schoolchildren who took part in an Ad Attack competition to design adverts for local businesses have received their prizes.

County and city schools were assigned local businesses and asked to come up with adverts that would boost their sales - and help the youngsters understand more about business.

Examples of the work they produced were featured in the Evening Press last Wednesday.

The winners received their prizes at the Evening Press Christmas Fair, held in the Moat House Hotel, North Street, yesterday.

The event was organised to give businesses, including restaurants, photographers and gift shops, the chance to show what they are planning for Christmas.

Wendy Neale, Evening Press events co-ordinator, said: "It has been a great fun day which has been visited by more than 500 people, which is a great success."
