PETER King, one of Europe's most in-demand alto saxophone players, will be the main attraction at the Black Swan, Peasholme Green, York, tomorrow night as part of a northern mini tour.
On Thursday, King will be holding jazz workshops at Manor CE School in York and at Ripon Grammar School. He will finish his tour on Friday at Wakefield Jazz Club.
"The upstairs room at the Black Swan has very limited space, so it is bound to be a sell-out," said organiser James Lancaster. "Tickets will be available at the door from 8.30pm at £4."
The resident band of James, Karl Mullen, Paul Baxter and Dave Cook will provide the backing for the fiery saxophone player.
Peter King has played with Ray Charles, Stan Tracey, Maynard Ferguson and many more.
He was a key member of the Charlie Watts Big Band and when the Stones' drummer put together a quintet to play the music of Charlie Parker, Peter King was his natural choice.
