RECENTLY, you could have bought a flu jab at Asda. Now the Yorkshire supermarket plans to offer spiritual healing as well.
The store at Monks Cross in York is advertising for a store chaplain. He or she would offer a friendly shoulder as you shopped.
There must be advantages for any enterprising member of the clergy willing to swap the church aisles for those of a supermarket. They could do their weekly shop between dispensing advice and comfort. And they could advertise their services with the simple message: "Jesus saves... at Asda."
