A COUPLE warned today of the danger of fireworks after a rocket blast shattered their back room window.
Jean Warriner, of Milson Road, The Groves, in York, was sitting in her living room last night with her husband when they heard a deafening bang outside.
"Someone could have been killed," she said.
"We were sat watching television at about 10.30pm. We could hear fireworks going off in the distance. Suddenly there was an almighty bang over the houses - it was like a bomb blast.
"My husband went out to investigate but couldn't see anything. The next morning we pulled open the curtains in the dining room and discovered the patio window had completely shattered.
"It's an outrageous situation with fireworks in York at the moment - how long will it go on for?"
The matter has been reported to the police.
