MOSS Harvey, fancied by many observers to emerge as one of the north's leading young chasers this season, heads to Kelso tomorrow in a bid to enhance his glowing reputation.

The gelding, trained by Malcolm Jefferson, who sent out Mytimie to score at Carlisle yesterday, was a prolific winner over hurdles last season.

However, fences always promised to bring out the best in Moss Harvey, who duly made a winning debut over the major obstacles at Fakenham last month.

Sent off the 5-2 second-favourite, the Norton gelding produced a thoroughly professional display to beat the market-leader Joly Bey by one and a quarter lengths.

That race was over an extended two miles and five furlongs and tomorrow Moss Harvey steps up to a more suitable three miles and one furlong in the Ashleybank Investments Reg Tweedie Novices' Chase. With Graham Lee again in the saddle, he should take the world of beating.

Impertio is fancied to click for Peter Beaumont in the £12,000 Ceilidh Boy Handicap Chase.

Although a notoriously difficult horse to win with, Impertio has stacks of ability and he will surely have benefited from his recent comeback outing at Carlisle where he finished a respectable fourth to Lisdante. Russ Garritty has the mount tomorrow.

Andrew Parker had three winners at Carlisle yesterday and the Lockerbie trainer can add to his score with D J Flippance in the Langholm Dyeing Company Handicap Chase.

Brian Storey's mount ran a fine race over hurdles at Carlisle on his reappearance to finish third to Royal Emperor, a winner again since. He should now be ripe to resume his chasing career.

Ontos has been in cracking form in recent months and Andy Scott's charge gets the vote in the Scottish Sports Aid Foundation Handicap Hurdle. Seamus Durack takes the ride on the gelding.

Mary Reveley is sending a small raiding party to Newbury and the Saltburn trainer can score with Maceo in the Lane Fox Handicap Hurdle.

Paddy Aspell's mount came fast and late to win at Wetherby 12 days ago and looks capable of following-up in this £10,000 event. He is awarded the nap vote.

Tribal King, trained by the in-form Henrietta Knight, has rattled up two wins over fences and is fancied to complete a hat-trick in the 4Oceans Halloween Novices Chase.
