MORE than 170 golfers helped to raise £5,000 for charity by taking part in an annual competition at the Pike Hills club, near Copmanthorpe, York.
The Candlelighters charity, which raises money for the leukaemia unit at St James's Hospital, in Leeds, was the recipient.
Winner of the individual event was Kevin Morris, while The Taxidermists took the group prize.
Organiser Alan Williams said: "I'd like to thank all the players, businesses and sponsors who helped to raise this money. It was a great day."
