PUPILS and staff at a York school were seeing double when they held a special twins day to round off Book Week.
Many of Bootham School's 430 pupils paired up and came to school dressed as their favourite fictional twins. Each pair paid £1, which was donated to children's charity Barnardos. The Book Week event featured a range of activities, including visits from former pupil Kjartan Poskitt, author of Murderous Maths, and romance writer Jessica Hart, of Mills & Boon fame.
Marion Chalmers, the school's librarian, said: "It has been a great opportunity for the pupils, and I know it has created a great deal of interest and inspired some to follow in their creative footsteps. The twins day was entered into with great gusto by pupils and staff alike."
