KIRKDALE'S St Nicholas Fair will be on Saturday at St Hilda's Church, Beadlam, and organisers are promising it will be bigger than ever.

The annual event starts at 10am, with Christmas-themed children's activities until noon. Entry costs £2 and includes a drink and biscuits.

While the children are being amused, adults can take part in the silent auction until 1.30pm, with some great bargains on offer to the lucky bidder.

At 2pm, the fair moves over the road to Nawton Memorial Hall. There will be the usual stalls and special guest Father Christmas to greet and meet the children.

Prizes for the morning children's session will also be presented. Entry 50p which includes tea and mince pies.

All proceeds raised on the day will go towards Kirkdale Joint Church Council.
