Sherburn-in-Elmet Tennis Club, who have teams in three leagues, are desperately in need of new players.
Club chairman Steve Webster said that while they are seeking men and women, they are especially short of good quality female players.
Sherburn have teams in IT Sport York Mixed League, Tyke Petroleum York Men's League and the Barkston Ash League.
The club have 15 players at present, which is the minimum they need to be able to field teams in all the leagues.
"Our youngest member is 16 and the oldest about 60, though most of our members are in the upper age range," said Webster. "We struggled last season, being relegated in two leagues and finishing fourth in another."
The club have two all-weather hard courts which are floodlit and members are able to play all year round. Annual membership costs £30 and there is no extra fee for playing under lights.
