LITERARY stars combined war reporting, comedy and sport at an annual lunch celebrating writing.
BBC correspondent Kate Adie joined with Edward Enfield, the father of Harry and author of Downhill All The Way, the tale of a cycle ride through France, when she spoke about her book The Kindness Of Strangers.
Bringing up the rear was Welsh rugby fly half Cliff Morgan, whose book Beyond The Fields Of Play has recently been published.
The lunch, the fifth held in St William's College, York, was organised by The Oldie magazine which is aimed at the over-50s. Previous speakers at Oldie events in York include Roy Hattersley, Richard Whiteley and Beryl Bainbridge.
