A man was taken to York District Hospital today after nailing his hand to a wooden board in an horrific accident.
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said three large nails were driven into his right hand by a nail gun while he carried out woodwork in Branton Place, Chapelfields, at 11am.
Firefighters used hand tools to cut down the large piece of timber around the man's hand while paramedics administered first aid. He was taken to hospital with his palm still nailed to the wood.
