A WEBSITE for pop music fans masterminded by a Selby woman has been nominated for a top national award.
Robbie Williams-mad Judith Harris, 30 of Sandway Avenue, Thorpe Willoughby, launched the website, www.popmusicpenpals.co.uk, in January 2001.
Since then the site has had over half a million hits and currently has about 250 members.
Judith was delighted when her website, which puts people in touch with fellow fans of their favourite pop stars, was nominated for the Top of the Pops Best Fan Website Award.
She said: "The idea came to me because I was struggling to find penpals who liked the same music I did."
Judith, who charges a small fee for matching people up with penpals, got her first penpal ten years ago when she was a Take That fan.
The most popular celebrities that members, who range from ten to 32 years old, ask for are Gareth and Will from Pop Idol, Westlife and Blue.
