JEAN Frost rightly points out that York city centre was packed to bursting point on Saturday (Letters, December 3) but that must be a good thing?
Many visitors came to York for the St Nick's festivities, granted, but nobody was forcing them here against their will. They obviously believe York has something to offer them in the times of out-of-town competition.
Nobody can gainsay the pulling power of Meadowhall and the Trafford Centre, but the passengers on the 450-plus pre-booked coaches obviously regarded York as a better destination.
Rather than dwell on the negatives lets use the positives and put York back on the shopper's map!
