DEAN Howson and those who want to spend £68,000 of our money on laptop computers for Selby District councillors (November 28) need to think again.
The district council has already spent money to provide all its councillors with email accounts, but three of the five for Tadcaster refuse to use them.
They are not the only district councillors who will not use modern information technology.
Councillors could find plenty of good uses for £68,000 in the Selby district. They could build a new public lavatory in Tadcaster and have some change left, or they could improve play areas instead of giving themselves toys that some of them will have no intention of using, and, one suspects, others will use for far more than council business.
