CAMPAIGNERS fighting to protect land around Clifford's Tower have launched a seasonal publicity push.
The Castle Area Campaign group is opposing proposals for a £60 million extension of the Coppergate shopping centre on to land currently used as the Castle car park.
Now they have had special greetings cards printed to highlight their cause.
The cards, which have no message inside, feature a photograph of the tower standing on a frost-covered mound.
Campaign member Keith Davis said: "This is not a money-making venture, the aim is purely a publicity thing.
"They are not actually Christmas cards. They are blank inside and are a general purpose greetings card, but we are pitching it at the Christmas market."
They are being sold at businesses supportive of the campaign in the city.
They are also being posted to a list of city dignitaries in an effort to keep the issue in the spotlight.
The Coppergate extension was at the centre of a public inquiry earlier this year. The inquiry's decision is awaited.
