BOOK-LOVING dads have been issued a special invitation to bring their children to a novel morning out.
Staff at Pickering Library are holding a Reading With Dad event, and a whole boxful of new books has been ordered for the occasion.
Each of the picture books on offer has men as main characters, so now the search is on for some real-life dads, granddads, brothers and uncles to bring pre-school children with them.
Janet Gavigan, from the library service, said they hoped to attract a whole roomful of dads with the special event.
"We have got some lovely new books, and we thought this would be a great way of introducing people to them," she said.
The Reading With Dad morning runs from 10.30am to 11.30am tomorrow.
Mums, sisters, grandmothers and aunts have been promised that they will be made to feel just as welcome.
