FORMULA ONE fans raced to a York bookshop to meet legendary Grand Prix commentator Murray Walker.
Hundreds of people queued to meet the celebrated voice of motor racing at Borders, in a line which stretched from the Davygate store into Stonegate.
Hundreds waited for up to an hour to meet Murray, who was signing copies of his autobiography Unless I'm Very Much Mistaken, yesterday.
Borders staff had anticipated that the event would be one of the most popular ever to be held at the store. They were expecting more than 600 people to meet Murray, a Grand Prix commentator for more than 50 years.
