BURGLARS have raided a number of village homes.
A large amount of jewellery was among the items stolen in a string of break-ins at Upper Poppleton, near York.
Thieves forced a back window at a house in Hodgson Lane, and stole a jewellery and a mobile phone. Jewellery, including a Tag Heuer watch and a ladies Next watch, was among items stolen in a break-in at a house in Orchard Road. Jewellery, building society books, and about 300 compact discs were taken from a house in Pear Tree Avenue. Thieves also took jewellery from a house in Long Ridge Lane, Poppleton.
