Loud Like Nature is a freak show. It leers, squeals, and purrs to the listener. Add N To (X), a London trio return with a compelling fourth album, following 2000's Add Insult To Injury.
Their style hints at everything from hip hop to 1950s rock'n'roll and yet never settles on a recognisable sound.
From the glamtronic opener Total All Out Water to the frenzied Sheez Mine, the p-funk surrealism of Party Bag and the pastoral analogue suite Up The Punks, the stomping single Take Me To Your Leader and synth thrasher Large Number, the album gathers up the band's history and spins it into gorgeously twisted nuggets.
Edgy and extrovert, they are one of the most thrilling electronic groups.
