GOLDEN candle-shaped cards have been sent to everyone who made a donation to the St Leonard's Hospice Light Up A Life appeal.
Bereaved relatives and friends were invited to honour a loved one with a light on special Christmas trees at York Railway Station and in the ground of the hospice in Tadcaster Road.
The lights will remain lit until January 6 and everyone who is honoured will have their name recorded in a book of remembrance that is on display at the hospice.
Hospice community fundraiser Judith Wilson and property services manager Rob Weldon have been busy sending all the cards out in time for people to hang them on their own Christmas trees.
There is still time to honour a loved one or friend with a light on the trees.
Judith Wilson said: 'This is our fifth Light Up A Life appeal, and we have two trees for the first time.
"Our special golden candle cards carry the names of those who are honoured with lights on the trees, and we welcome more donations and names.
"Light Up A Life plays an important part in helping to raise the £1.7 million it costs each year to provide our free care to local people and their families."
