SEVERUS SC booked their place in the quarter-finals of the John Smiths Bitter Cup with a resounding 9-0 win over second division FC Magnet.

In division one Hounds travelled to struggling Acomb WMC and heaped more misery on the home side when coming away with a 9-0 win, Cygan netting four. Craig Stimson scored the only goal as New Earswick beat Ainsty 1-0.

After having won their first seven second division games, Thorpe Utd succumbed to a second successive defeat, this time 2-0 at the hands of Fulford Bay to goals from Browes and Wilkinson.

Blacksmiths Arms got back to winning ways with a 4-2 win over Derwent Arms.

In division three Hemingbrough moved away from the foot of the table after coming from behind to win 2-1 against Haxby Lions courtesy of a power drive from Livsey and a winner on the hour from Ward.

Allison scored two as Samson beat Copmanthorpe 3-1.

Fulford FC went second in division four with a 10-2 demolition of Boy & Barrel. Chapman scored three and Sutton, Thompson and Turner two apiece.

A hat-trick from Ian Hufton helped Acomb Celtic to a 4-3 win at Raskelf. Goals from Skilbeck and Ellis either side of half-time saw Inland Revenue beat Old Grey Mare 2-1.

The top-of-the-table clash in division five saw Hambleton move two points clear after a 5-1 win over Kings Arms, Croad scoring twice.

Bootham Tavern moved back into second place with a narrow 1-0 win over Enterprise thanks to a super solo goal from Rob Hale.

Division six leaders Selby Olympia Reserves fell behind to a 20-yard Liam Holmes' strike ten minutes before the break in their clash with Skelton.

Jordon Lindley hit a hat-trick in 16 minutes at the beginning of the second half to put Selby in control and, although Skelton pulled one back through Colin Rennison, Olympia held on to take the points.

The result turned out to be doubly important as Bay Horse (Tad) lost their 100 per cent record when going down 3-1 at home to Gipsy Moth. Kingsway Riders travelled to Hazelwoods and came away with a 3-2 win.
