IS the consumption of beer so important that it should cause an accident and a traffic hold-up that stretched from Micklegate to Askham Bar?
I could not believe it when I encountered a traffic queue of such gigantic proportions whilst cycling to work on Tuesday (December 10), only to find that the cause of the congestion was a brewery tanker delivering to a pub on Blossom Street!
Why is it that everywhere else in York strict delivery guidelines has to be adhered to, yet at a peak time when everyone is trying to get to work, this delivery was allowed to take place?
How can our traffic problems ever be solved when this cavalier attitude is common place and ignored?
