A PROJECT to create a giant mosaic depicting scenes from community life in the Leeman Road area of York is nearing completion.
People of all ages have attended a series of workshops at St Barnabas School to make the 15ft by 12ft artwork.
The mosaic has been professionally designed by Rural Arts and developed with City of York Council's community leisure officer, Michelle Bainbridge.
Images depicted include a variety of wildlife, flowers and other environmental images.
Leeman Road volunteers will display the finished mosaic on the Millennium Green, off Water Lane.
The remaining workshops take place on Thursdays, January 9, January 16 and January 23.
