FIVE former landlords and landladies plus hundreds of regulars packed into the Beagle pub, in York, to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Founding landlord Barry "Beagle" Stickney served John Smith's bitter to a group of regulars at the Foxwood pub at the same price they paid in December 1977 - 24p.
Barry, 71, who now runs the Phoenix, in George Street, said the night reminded him of his many years at a "smashing" pub.
Landlady Gill Wells said the celebration was probably one of the busiest nights at the pub since it opened a quarter-of-a-century ago.
