Wigginton Squash Club have landed a plum third round clash in the National Club Championship against keen rivals Pontefract.
After being given a walkover by Wensleydale in the first round, an under-strength Wigginton beat Teesside-based Nunthorpe 4-1 to book their mouth-watering clash with Pontefract which is likely to take place at the end of February.
Unbeaten in 2002, Wigginton, leaders of the Yorkshire Premier League, rested several star players but still had too much power for Nunthorpe.
Jonny Duffield, making only his second appearance at this level, went down 3-2 to Malcolm Leech.
However, Ian Tooms defeated Graham Lewis 3-1 and Matt Lowery continued his fine run of form to defeat Mark Hickburn 3-0. Jamie Hopwood and first-string Kevin White both enjoyed 3-0 wins over Ian Williams and Neil Harrison respectively to seal victory.
