At home, Eric Hodgson, Geoff Walker, John Berridge and Kevin Harris won 23-12 but it didn't look as though it would be after 15 ends when just one point separated the teams.

York's only defeat came from Fred Clayden, Peter Littlewood, Tom Ellis and Ken Patterson who had been involved in a tight game before losing 8-16.

New Earswick also made it two wins out of two as they beat Ryedale 93-76 to pick up 16 points.

At Norton, Bob Howland, Colin Fawcett, Ray Bowman and Ron Wood were in front throughout as they recorded an excellent 25-15 win.
