THUNDERBIRDS are go for Haxby's Christopher Whitehead after he won a national competition to write a comic-strip story for the popular puppet series.
Christopher, six, a pupil at Headlands Primary School, beat thousands of other hopefuls in the competition judged by Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson.
"Christopher's comic-strip was an action packed adventure worthy of International Rescue," he said.
His prizes include an official Thunderbirds 2003 annual, a TB4 radio control vehicle, an M&S Thunderbirds watch and a new Powertech Tracy Island.
