A DRIVER escaped with minor injuries after her car left the A64 near York and turned over into a ditch.
The woman was taken to York Hospital by ambulance after the incident at about 4pm yesterday, between Catterton and Bilbrough.
Witnesses said her white saloon car had left the road as it travelled along the eastbound carriageway and turned upside-down in a ditch opposite the Aagrah Restaurant.
Police have named a 24-year-old car passenger who was killed in a Boxing Day collision on a notorious stretch of the A64, near York.
Sharon Doherty, of Keplar Street, Seaforth, Liverpool, was killed when the Volvo in which she was travelling collided with a Rover 400 near Crambeck.
Five other adults and a nine-year-old girl were also injured in the collision.
The girl, who comes from West Yorkshire, today remained in a critical condition at Leeds General Infirmary.
