NATIONAL glory beckons for York's Alistair Domville after he hit the spot on the east coast.
Domville, who hails from Dunnington, won gold in the annual npower Active bowls championships for people with learning and physical disabilities at Scarborough's Alexandra Bowls Centre.
Sponsored by npower and organised by the Federation of Disability Sports Organisation, the tournament attracted ten teams from across the region competing for places in the coveted national championships.
That next destination is the preserve of Domville, who will represent York in the national finals.
He enthused: "The tournament was no easy ride as I was up against some tough competition.
"I am over the moon that I won and very proud to be playing for York in the national finals next year."
Stephen Clark, also from York, competed in the Scarborough event.
Kevin Rodgers, npower's community relations manager for Yorkshire, added: "Alistair's performance was fantastic and everyone at npower wishes him all the best in the national finals next year."
The npower Active programme is a series of events aimed at encouraging individuals with disabilities - learning, physical, hearing or visual - to get involved in sporting activities to explore their talents and abilities.
