New Earswick bowed out of their EIBA Over-60s Double Rinks Championship when they were beaten 43-32 on aggregate at home by Selby 'A'.
Ken Harrison, Colin Fawcett, Alf Lewis and Dennis Ellis had a good start leading 9-0 after only five ends. Selby got back into the game but could not prevent the hosts prevailing 21-12.
However, the visitors were in full control in the other rink against Bob Edwards, Barry Johnson, Bob Howland and Mick Stannard, leading from start to finish to win 31-11.
