FOLK singer Julie Felix opened for Bob Dylan at the 1969 Isle of Wight Festival and now she offers her long-awaited tribute album to the music legend.
It is a labour of love, with 20 tracks from Dylan's influential body of work recorded in seven different places, including a studio in Orkney and another in Santa Barbara, the place of Felix's birth.
Felix is joined by guest artists from a variety of musical backgrounds, including former Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones; soulful vocalist Kiki Dee; eclectic guitarist Carmelo Luggeri; plus folk icons Martin Carthy, John Renbourn and Danny Thompson. From the beauty of Love Minus Zero, to the resignation of Every Grain Of Sand via the intense anger of Masters Of War, Felix remains true to the integrity of each Dylan composition, while retaining an interpretation uniquely her own.
