DRINKERS were evacuated from York pub The Postern Gate for the second time in less than seven months - this time after a small fire broke out.
Fire crews were called to the blaze in the pub's utility room at about 6.15pm last night and found a tumble dryer on fire.
They took 20 minutes to put the fire out and customers were allowed back into the pub.
Last June, the then newly-opened Postern Gate hit the headlines after part of its suspended ceiling collapsed. A number of drinkers were slightly injured in that incident, the cause of which is still being investigated.
